Troubleshooting problems with the new style Pipeliner Remote Amp Control within the welding machine.

In the event that you experience problems after installation use the troubleshooting chart below to determine the problem area.  All tests are with the HAND CONTROL UNPLUGGED and no extension cord plugged into the remote control receptacle.

All checks are to be made AT THE CIRCUIT BOARD and write down the measurements you read BEFORE contacting us for assistance.  This information will help us quickly diagnose your problem.

WARNING:  Note the "Engine on" and "Engine off" designators on each test.  Failure to abide will cause damage to your test equipment.   "ENGINE ON" checks are made with the engine running at WELDING speed.

If ANY of the tests performed above fail then a problem exists in the initial wiring of the remote controller within your machine.  Damage may have already occurred to the machine circuit board and that can be tested by the following means:

1.  Remove all wiring from the circuit board.

2.  Measure resistance between terminals #1 and #2.  Meter polarity does not matter.  An indication of
less than 20K (2,000 ohms) indicates damage to the machine board output transistor.

3.  The machine board must be repaired and erroneous wiring of the remote control within the machine must be accomplished prior to installing the repaired circuit board.

If trouble is experienced in installation contact us at 361-664-4413.  We are open Monday to Friday from 8 am. to 5 pm. central standard time.  We are closed on weekends and on holidays.
