MILLER-I Generic Replacement for Miller 071-609 & 049-443 Series Boards

Miller-I

Old Miller Electric Board

The MILLER-I board is an exact replacement for the Miller 071-609 and 049-443 board in regards to wiring connections.  The mounting of the board is slightly different in regards to the original board having long screws mounting the unit through the front panel.  Ours has nylon spacers that simply are attached by screwing short screws through the original holes in the machine's panel into the spacers.  The board is then simply snapped into place upon these spacers.

In the event that the terminal identifications must be shown, their proper lettering is part of the foil on the reverse side of the board.

The Model MILLER-I is greatly improved over the original manufacturer's board.

The board has been designed to be insensitive to ignition noise.  This means that you may use any type of spark plugs you desire instead of resistance plugs (RD-16s).

On most machines there is a large gold metal resistor mounted on a metal bracket under the original board.  This resistor was a "fix" for spurious problems with the original Miller board and is not used with our board.  Simply detach the wires and discard it.

Our board is greatly simplified over the original factory board and is much lower in profile.  This enables much easier installation than the original board that came with the machine.

The MILLER-I board has been specifically designed so that a reverse battery connection will not damage the board.

To insure reliable service, the Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR) contained on the original Miller board has been replaced by a single 30 amp relay.
